TIM BURTON is an American artist, director, writer, and animator. He is well known for his dark, quirky film style, especially with his stop-motion animation. His most famous works include Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and his short film Vincent. He is also well known for his big blockbuster films such as Alice in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I've never been a huge fan of Tim Burton's to be honest. That doesn't mean that I dislike his work because I do like some (Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands). I think that some people more easily connect with his style than others. It's very dark and can be, at times, weird and off-putting. However, that doesn't mean that I don't understand why he is so successful or why anyone would like his work. His style is very unique -- anyone can decipher his style in a nanosecond -- and I think it's admirable the amount of acclaim and success he's achieved with his unusual vision. I actually only just saw The Nightmare Before Christmas and I really liked it. Any stop motion is mind-boggling to me because it looks so complex and tedious. It'll be interesting to try it out myself in the next few weeks.
